Borders Select the Show Border option to add an outline border around each letter. You can make the border thicker or thinner by using the - or + buttons or typing a new number in the box. Remove the border by un-checking the Show Border box. The Preview Preset Options can be used to preview the border in 6 different thicknesses at the same time.

Weeding and Tape Options If you leave the option for Ready to Install selected, the lettering will come 100% ready to install. If you select the Do-It-Yourself option, we will cut out your lettering for you and ship it to you without removing the extra vinyl or adding application tape. You will need to 'Weed and Tape' your lettering before you install it.
(You will need to provide your own masking tape when selecting this option.) This option is not recommended for large decals and is better suited for smaller do it yourself and craft projects. Select More Info. Background Options The default Background Cut Out & Removed option is recommended and is by far the most common way to order lettering. With this option the lettering will be computer cut, pre-spaced with a transfer tape on top, and 100% ready to install.
The entire design installs as one application then after removing the transfer tape, just the individual letters will be left perfectly aligned on the surface with no background at all. If the Do-It-Yourself 'Weeding' & Tape option is selected the Background Cut Out & Removed option will change to say 'Cut Out, BUT NOT REMOVED'. When you select the Solid Background Color option, the lettering will come as a solid one color decal with the solid background included. The lettering will remain the same size and the background will start at exanding 10% larger than the lettering. You can change the Background Margin Size to another percentage if you like.
The margin size and total decal sizes will be shown in the Item Summary. For many lettering designs with the background cut out and removed, especially with 1 or 2 lines of text, the 'Cut Apart' technique is recommended. Before removing the backing to expose the adhesive, tape the lettering in place by running a piece of masking tape completely along the top edge of the lettering. Then take a pair of scissors and cut from the bottom completely through the top between every couple of letters. Since the tape on top will hold each section in place you can then apply a couple of letters at a time instead of the entire decal.
