I would not have purchased your ecosystem components without it. Second, this app was a great start until it stopped working for a stretch. I think it was related to overall system instability. Update 3/15/16: All of the issues I had leading up to and after the maintenance 1/22/2016 have finally subsided.
The app is definitely snappier and even seems far more stable than before. The experience still isn't as smooth as Android, but it is still usable. SmartThings has gone on record saying they intend regular updates (monthly) but that size of teams doing the work are proportional to the ecosystem user base. Eagerly awaiting.
