Hi after the above step even,, this will not work for some users (including me) once manually selecting the iso file is done.

Go to manage go to compatibility choose VMware 9.0 click next - pick the option to alter this VMware version ( don't check first option to clone - not at all ) it will remove cd/dvd option at all.
