When trying to print a Crystal Report, the system wants to download a new version of the Crystal ActiveX control. The user then gets an error that 'Windows has blocked this software because it cannot verify the publisher'. We did not have this problem prior to installing SP2. This error appears when the ActiveX print control is selected in preferences.

Jul 26, 2009. Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 2 is available on the [download SAP Crystal Solutions Downloads] site. The fixed issues doc is already on [Crystal. [Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/2009E/cr2008win_sp2.exe].

The PDF control works fine, but our users prefer the ActiveX control because it prints the report directly and they don't have to download a file and then print it. Has anyone else experienced this?

This is really an issue for us - our security folks won't allow things to be opened up to install or run unsigned ActiveX controls and our users don't want the 'extra clicks' of using the PDF print control.

We desperately need to upgrade to SP2 because we're having some of the issues that are fixed, but this one's going to kill us! I have no faith in the support from SAP based on prior experience, so I hate to have to open a support case if someone else has found an answer to this. -Dell madcityjazz Forum Member Joined: 01 Oct 2008 Posts: 3 Posted: Tue Dec 15, 2009 4:00 pm Post subject: Re: BO XI 3.1 sp2 - Crystal PrintControl.cab download issue I spoke with BO tech support regarding this as we are having the same issue. We can get it resolved by copying the PrintControl.cab from the server location “ Program Files Common Files Business Objects 4.0 crystalreportviewers12 ActiveXControls” to the client machine. Then Extract the PrintControl.cab. Then register (regsvr32) the printcontrol.dll. After doing these steps manually the print button in CR worked.

This is not a good resolution for us though and tech support is saying they can't do any better than that. However, in our case it's only affecting a handful of users and it doesn't provide any error message or warning. The workflow is that the user opens a Crystal report in InfoView for viewing and then selects the print icon. A smaller dialog window will open with a small square icon in the upper-left corner.

I know that represents the 'placeholder' for where the activex control would normally appear. Sociologia Delle Migrazioni Ambrosini Pdf Reader. The control never comes up. Our workaround has been to set the user to PDF printing under the Crystal Report preferences.

Some things we've tried so far: - Added out InfoView site address to the Trusted Sites list. (IE6) - Made sure that all security settings related to ActiveX are enabled. - Tried changing some of the advanced settings under Internet Options If anyone has other suggestions or things to try regarding this problem, I would appreciate it. _________________ BOE 4.1 SP6 3 Server Cluster - 24 CPU, Front-End Load Balancing Teradata: Oracle: SQL Server: DB2: Greenplum: SAS: Hadoop r9bd Forum Member Joined: 14 Oct 2009 Posts: 2 Posted: Thu May 20, 2010 4:17 pm Post subject: Re: BO XI 3.1 sp2 - Crystal PrintControl.cab download issue We are still working with SAP support on this issue. One thing we have noticed is that when a crystal report does not have a prompt, the print control will download and the user can print. When the crystal report has a prompt then we get the message 'cannot verify the publisher' and nothing happens. However this issue happens on very few desktops. After installing the SP3, when the users logged in first time after the SP3 installation and if they click on the print icon, it shows a message called 'Business Objects is trying to install an ActiveX control' do you want to install it or not? Once the user selects 'Install' option, it's completely taken care of.

It's a one time task. However there are very few users (2 so far) where the above mentioned fix didn't work. So i have to follow the work around given by 'madcityjazz' in this thread. This works perfect but yes, it's a very tedious process. Display posts from previous: or to Post ->Page 1 of 1 All times are GMT - 5 Hours Jump to: Get community updates via Twitter.
